Mural in Washington DC: "From Edgewood to Edge of the World"

In summer 2009, five artists led a group of young people from the Summer Youth Employment Program to develop, design, and create the largest mural in the District of Columbia.

The commissioned wall is about 280 feet long and about 15 feet high.

The mural is visible from the Rhode Island WMATA metro station on the Red Line and along the new Metropolitan Branch Trail.

"From Edgewood to the Edge of the World" is the anchor art piece that reflects the soul of the neighborhood through the artists’ imagination and invites the public to step beyond their own “edge.”

The Edgewood Mural Jam doubled the size of this public art piece in one day as over 65 artists contributed with their art on the adjacent wall.
